A big big thank you to Frankie Magazine for featuring our cards in the current issue. Gareth was on strict instruction on Saturday to get Hollie and I a copy and we sat and read it at the Napier after Rose Street. I was pretty excited to see I was on the same page as Pulp Creative Paper in Manly, one of our newest stockists. Tracey and Nicky who run the shop are both lovely and it makes me wish I lived in Manly. The sunshine and being able to say "you're so manly and you're from Manly!" to Gareth would be an added bonus.Frankie Mag have a pretty sweet deal at the moment, if you subscribe you don't have to pay the postage and you go into the draw to win some pretty clothes from Secret Squirrel. I think I should do that and save Gareth having to run around Melbourne for me. Oh who am I kidding, I love him running around after me.
Now this guy has one thing on his mind. Romance. His version of romance involves a bottle of mid range champagne, something obscure so you think he spent $90 when in fact he only spent about $17. Hey, at least it isn't Passionpop! He is available on Etsy as well as the markets this weekend. We will be at Rose Street on Saturday and the Art Centre Market at Southbank on Sunday on St Kilda Road between Hamer Hall and the Theatres Building.
Looking for something for Dad this Father's Day, well Leeloo have these great little giftpacks available, with free gift wrapping and postage. The pack includes some cufflinks from either Kalliopi or Betsy Blonde as well as one of our Able and Game Father's Day cards.
We have had an Able and Game You Rock My World card for a while, but I decided to give it a bit of a makeover and create a new guy for the card. I had Rod Stewart and Keith Richards in mind when I started the drawing and I think he is channeling the latter quite well. He is available in our Etsy shop and will be at Rose Street this Saturday AND Sunday. Yes, that's right, we will be at Rose Street on Sunday as well.
Sometimes someone tells you a story and it is just perfect. It ticks all the boxes and stays in your mind for weeks or even months after you hear it. This story was one such story, I couldn't get it out of my head. There was something about the line "you, babe, can have anything you want on the menu" that make me laugh and made me wonder why I wasn't dating a guy who didn't mind if I got the Deluxe Nachos for $30 and dessert. This new Able and Game card will be making its debut this weekend at Rose Street on Saturday but if you want your greasy nacho mits on it quicker (or you don't live in Melbourne) then it is on Etsy.
Over the last few months we have been following Nook on a bit of a journey as they get ready to open their new shop in West End, Brisbane. The list of designers they stock is rather impressive and makes me want to shift to Brisbane just to check it out. On Saturday Nook opened their doors for the first time and although the pictures look fantastic, it would have been nice to be there in person to have a look. So if you're in Brisbane, please go and check out this lovely new shop.Nook19 Browning StreetWest EndQueenslandShop Hours:

We have two new Able and Game Melbourne cards making their debut this weekend at the various markets around town. I remember playing You Are My Sunshine on my clarinet for my Great Grandma back in the early '90s and I once made her a card with the same saying on it, although it didn't include Sunshine station, I am sure the dorky sun was still a feature.
Also, thanks to Simone for writing some lovely things about our cards on The Vine. I was having a laugh at the comments, particularly the one about punchlines inside the card.
This weekend Gareth and I will be selling our Able and Game cards at three different markets across Melbourne. Gareth has been working hard and Rose Street has become his second home, causing me to miss all my Rose Street buddies. But I get to hang with some cool people on Saturday at Peta Pledger's Studio Sale. Busy Ms. Pledger works hard making some pretty tres chic outfits, yet still finds time to organise a studio sale in the Nicholas Building. The first one was great, I got to sell some cards, some Anna Laura stock and talk to Jodie from Meringue all day.
