Apple flavour for me please

I was sitting at Rose Street on Sunday drawing up some ideas for Valentine's Day cards Gareth had scrawled onto an envelope. Our next door neighbour at Rose Street on a Sunday is Mark from Record Attempts. He makes journals from old records, so if you play your cards right you can see Julio wink at you. I was reading Gareth's suggestions and one of them made him come up with this idea for this card.

I was rather fond of the idea and drew this lovely tattooed lady drinking an apple prima. When coming up with the wording for the card one of my ideas for the text seemed a bit lewd, I'm not sure what double strawing a juice box might mean, but it just doesn't sound right. Anyway our card is not meant to have any rude connotations, it is all primary school sweetness and nice. You can get this card on Etsy or at Rose Street Artist Market this weekend.

Oh Baby, it's hot outside!

With two trips to the Post Office in 42 C (107 F) heat I thought this made a fitting card for an Australian Summer. This hot guy is available on Etsy and on days like this you really do have to love online shopping. Now I think it is off to Sandringham beach to cool down!

Happy New Year!

We hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Year and spent time with family, friends and loved ones. We are slowly getting back in the swing of things getting ready for Rose Street Artist Market this weekend. After a 3 week break it will be nice to be back in the tin shed and see some familiar faces. With Valentine's Day just over a month away we are going to get our romantic caps on to create some new cards full of love, awkwardness and hope.

Badges!

We had a bunch of badges made up featuring our illustrations by Josh from Fairweather Friends (another Rose Street stallholder, come visit him for his cool badges and t-shirts!). Our little Bald Rocks My World guy is also featured in the current Frankie Magazine which is rather exciting. We have listed some on Etsy and the full range will be available at Rose Street this weekend.

I'm just a ...

Well I think this would have to be one of my favourite Melbourne cards. My sister came up with the words for this card, and the cute little Elvis impersonator is one of my favourite card guys. You can buy the card on Etsy, and at Rose Street this weekend, our last markets for the year. We will be there on Saturday and Sunday from 11am - 5pm located at 60 Rose Street in Fitzroy.

I think it is also worth watching Elvis singing the line on youtube (around the 2.21 mark). Thank god for the interwebs, almost everything you want to see is so easy to access!

Christmas @ Meat Market

This weekend Gareth and I will be doing two markets in Melbourne over the weekend. We will have our usual stall at Rose Street from 11am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday at 60 Rose Street Fitzroy. If you're in North Melbourne we will also be doing Christmas @ Meat Market on Saturday and Sunday running from 11am-8pm (yes 8pm!) located in the Arts House on Blackwood Street in North Melbourne. I've noticed a few fun people will also be doing this market, including Leslie from Onegirl, Shannon from AuntieCookie and Dana from Twiglet.

We will have calendars, Christmas cards and a whole bunch of new Melbourne cards, including I've got my heart Seddon you and You put me on Macleod nine at both of the markets.

Coming to Sydney!

Gareth and I are about to leave for Finders Keepers in Sydney. This is the first time we have ever done an interstate market so we are quite excited. If you're in Sydney come along on Friday night from 6pm-10pm or Saturday from 10am - 8pm at Carriageworks, 245 Wilson Street, Eveleigh.
