Our new Able and Game birthday card was an interesting one to make. It didn't involve any drawing, it did involve putting some card under the car tyres and going over them, then putting dirty coffee mugs on the card and other gunky stuff. We scanned the gunky card and added the extra details including the line "it was the last card left in the shop". The printout looks rather realistic and it was a bit scary seeing them at Rose Street on the weekend, I kept thinking someone had left a coffee on the cards and mucked one up. We have put one up on Etsy and although the card isn't specifically a belated birthday card, it suits the occasion quite well.
I think Gareth and I make the best cards when they are a collaborative effort. I had this drawing made up and knew I wanted it to be a birthday card, but that was all I had. I called Gareth in and he just came up with the line right away and it was perfect. This little fellow is up on Etsy right now.
Technotronic, the late '80s early '90s electronic house act made famous for the song Pump Up The Jam came from Belgium, famous for their beer (Palm or Hoegaarden thanks!), Frietjes, actors and chocolate. This Able and Game birthday card is available on Etsy, for that special someone who loves a bit of fluro in their clothing.
And just in case you want to do some insane dance moves here it is in all its glory:
In the spirit of So You Think You Can Dance and string vests I bring you this birthday card. I think Gareth would look pretty swell in those pale blue denim cut off jeans, along with a Mediterranean tan, a house in Greece and a bottle of wine. Although I'm not sure if he would sport the pink belt and shoes and I don't want him anywhere near that white string vest and bling necklace. This Able and Game card should be listed up on Etsy very soon!
Another little collaboration between Gareth and I via MSN messenger. Able and Game loves technology and a high speed internet connection. A drawing was sent, Gareth suggested a 6 pack, did an image search but found an image of a fat man in a beer belt. When I saw it I knew, it was going on a card. I got pen to paper and drew a few guys and this guy was the best of the bunch. Now I know what I can get Gareth for his next birthday. If I can't find one I will craft my own from a belt and some duct tape.
Cherry Docs, a military jacket and a healthy appreciation for the Beastie Boys. Isn't that every guy growing up in the '90s? Did your Mum throw away your best porno mag? This Able and Game card is available on Etsy, perfect for people who enjoy popping balloons at parties, scaring you half to death.
This is one of the new Able and Game birthday cards available in the Etsy shop. I think this one is my favourite because I think I have one of everything, except the moustache package. But that is nothing a quick trip to the $2 shops couldn't fix.
