Boat time

For the first time since 2008 I got to spend a few days with the parents down at Lakes Entrance on the family boat. We got the boat way back in 1985 and every childhood family holiday has been spent here.

Hanging with the olds is always good fun and I often say being able to have a few drinks with your parents is like an reward you get for being an adult. Our drinks of choice where wine, a couple of G and Ts (perfect weather for it) and also some port (Dad got about 38942943892 bottles for his 60th a few years back). We also got soaking wet driving back in the tinnie one night when a westerly wind was coming in and going across the entrance was quiet rough. After we dried off our faces where all white from the salty water. It was a bit of an adventure.

Now I'm back and its less elrelax-o and more hello Valentine's Day-o with some cards more influence by the trip than others.

Rose Street Sale

We will be having a sale this Saturday at Rose Street. We have two sections, the sale section and the seconds section. The seconds are calendars, cards and tea towels and the sale is what we remembered to bring because we have not done a market in 3 weeks and forgot how it's done.

There is nothing that wrong with any of the seconds they are just not super duper perfect. If you plan on using your tea towel as an actual tea towel some of the print/linen imperfections will probably end up with stains anyway from that time in the not to distant future when your Father In Law spills red wine over the coffee table and it hits your new rug that you pretended was really expensive to impress your Mother In Law but it actually came from hard rubbish.

Rose Street is only on on Saturday at the moment, which is nice because we can now spend Sunday's scouting hard rubbish looking for fancy rugs.

Happy 2013

So Christmas has come and gone and we are now hanging out in a brand new year. We are back to work after a break that saw me leave the office on Christmas Eve and not step foot in the office until a couple of days ago (Gareth however was very good sending off Etsy orders on the 27th). It was nice to spend a few days pottering around our very neglected house, cleaning and sorting and starting fresh and organised for the year ahead.

It is also exciting to start the year not having to shift office (and house) as per the last two years. Today is the one year anniversary in this space and we are celebrating by keeping cool and wishing for air conditioning. We are also looking forward to planning the year ahead for Able and Game, starting with Valentine's Day and celebrating 4 years of Able and Game. We've made no New Year's Resolutions, unless you count Gareth's sense of humour here, but look forward to what 2013 brings us.
