So when Gareth and I were thinking of ideas for the Able and Game Father's Day range he suggested doing another Thanks For The Lift card. I think my thoughts went straight to this film but luckily he wasn't thinking about the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito film, he was talking about all the shoulder rides you get from Dad growing up. Obviously the lift from Mum is the most important one you're going to get, but the lifts from Dad are the ones you will remember. The Father's Day Lift and Mother's Day Lift are both available on Etsy.

Ideas from Mum
The design concept for this card came from my Mum, who often likes to come up with ideas for cards and products. She said it might be nice to make a card that siblings would give their Mum together and came up with the idea for the birds all singing and the line "We love to sing your praises". I kept the design similar to the Beautiful Birds range of cards and wanted the font to be pretty handwriting. This Able and Game card is also available as part of our growing range of Mother's Day Cards. Gareth and I just checked the calender and it is just over a month away! Time goes by so fast these days.

U-Haul
This is Gareth and my favourite Able and Game Mother's Day Card because it was a bit of a team effort. I came up with the concept but was having a real issue with the wording. I wanted something simple, but the best I could do was "thanks for hauling me around for nine months".
I was talking to Gareth about it and he just looked at me and said thanks for the lift and I kicked myself I couldn't come up with something so perfect and so simple. We sold this card last year at Rose Street and I think it took a few clicks before people understood what it meant, but when they did they thought it was very funny. Mum's don't want cruddy flowers on their cards, they want to be reminded of the swollen ankles and the fact that they couldn't see them when they looked down!
